Inle Floating Thingyan: Opening Ceremony held in Inn Paw Khone Village

The opening ceremony of the Inle Floating Thingyan Festival which symbolizes the Myanmar Traditional Thingyan was held at Khit San Yin Floating pandal in Inn Paw Khone Village-tract of NyaungShwe Township on 13th April, Thingyan Akyo Day.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Aung Thaw extended greetings, saying that it is very proud to participate in this Traditional Thingyan Festival celebration, together with the public happily and joyously in Inle Region, which is a unique symbolic festival of Myanmar. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye also said that the Inle floating Thingyan festival was held for the 1st time in 2019, and it is now being held for the 2nd time.

Inle is a region that attracts both domestic and foreign tourists, and the main business of the region is tourism. It is a year of great honor for the region for organizing this Myanmar New Year festival. After that, the Union Minister and party cut the ribbon to open the Inle Floating Thingyan Festival.

After that, Yein dance troupes performed with the songs “Thingyan Moe” and “Mingalar Shi Thaw Thingyan” and the Union Minister, the Chief Minister and their wives enjoyed the splashing of water. The famous actors and Yein Dance troupes also performed the songs with the accompanied of Power King Music Band.
