Infrastructure Development: Progress of Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge (Dala)

The construction of the approach bridge and slope bridge of Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge (Dala) is targeted to complete by the end of this year on both Yangon and Dala sides. Started in May 2019, the construction of the Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge (Dala) has been completed the 54.5 % of the construction work, according to the official. 

The 100 per cent completion of the Bridge is expected in 2024. The bridge is a kind of Cable Steel Bridge. It has 160 feet high water clearance area. So, PY1 and PY2 of the bridge have to be erected for 130 feet high.  It is the highest Python bridge in Myanmar, and thus, the large cargo ships with 15,000 tons dead weights can pass through. The bridge construction is running operations 24 hours a day to complete the project within the targeted timeframe.
