Infrastructure Development: New road opened in Myitkyina, bridge construction inspected

A new concrete road was opened in Myitkyina on Sunday. Nan Paung Airport Detour Road which is the second entrance road to Myitkyina is 6 miles 3 furlongs long and 24 ft wide.

Kachin State Road Department constructed the new road with the use of over 4.6 billion kyats from the Kachin State Government Budget allotment. Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan attended the opening ceremony of the new road, held at Shadaung village, and made a speech.

After formal opening of the facility, the Chief Minister and party strolled along the road. They later visited Nga Oh Village and inspected the construction of Nan Kwae Creek crossing reinforced concrete bridge. The bridge is 300 ft long and 27 ft 6 inches wide.

Construction Group (1) of the Bridge Department is undertaking the project with the use of 200 million kyats budget allotment from the union fund.
