







A work coordination meeting on plans to promote the state economy by state-owned factories and workshops and leased factories was held at the Ministry of Industry on Thursday.
At the meeting, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than said to keep operating the State-Owned factories and workshops, the Ministry of Industry needs to systematically carry out to get the main inputs such as energy, raw materials and machinery equipment, to draw plans to get the main resources for the development of industrial sector such as investment, technology, human resources, industrial and engineering material and energy, and to make efforts to develop research, innovation and reverse engineering with short-term and long term plans.
The Ministry of Industry has been facing the challenges of financial capital, limitation of energy and technology, low quality and technology creation, insufficient skilled workers, inability to penetrate foreign markets and high raw materials and production costs.
He also said it’s necessary to establish main industries which can produce equipment to develop the national industry sector. Also, the Deputy Minister called on concerned officials to make efforts to substitute the foreign products with local ones, to accelerate local production and to make market research.
And, the deputy director general reported on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis, the Manpower, Method, Machine, Material, Milieu and Measurement (6 Ms) and root cause analysis of state-owned factories. Then, they made group discussions which were also reviewed to promote the state economy by state-owned factories and workshops and leased factories.
