Industrial development : Rice Husk Gasifiers technology

There are 35 rice mills have been operating with the use of gasifiers in Wakhema Township of Ayeyarwady Region. By using the rice husk fuel gasifier at the mills, it can reduce the cost than running diesel generators and import of fuel from abroad.  

Kyaw Swar ,Rice mill owner said " In the past, we were used the boiler engines and transformers for milling the rice, and there are a lot of disadvantages and out-dated techniques. So we are currently using the gasifier techniques to operate our rice mills. By using this technique, we have excessive rice husks and we can resell it as well as we can reduce the environmental damage."

There are about 412 businesses using rice husk gasifiers in Sagaing, Bago, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions registered at the Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection.
