Industrial Development: MOI to send lecturers for study in China

18 lecturers from the No. 2 Industrial Training School (Mandalay) under the Directorate of Industrial Collaboration will study in China under the Scholarship Program. On Friday afternoon, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than met with the trainee lecturers at the Ministry.
During the meeting, the Union Minister said the Ministry is sending trainees to foreign scholarship programs, enabling to turn out qualified industrial workers who are the essential force to the industrial sector development and to enhance the staff’s capacity building.
He urged all to strive for continuous learning of the modern technologies during training period and to conduct training courses for industrial workers as well as to share their knowledge gained and experiences through training courses.
No. (2) Industrial Training School (Mandalay) was opened in 2008 with the China’s assistance and the training courses have been conducted till 12 batches with 1,736 trainees. And, the two countries signed the agreement of upgrading of No. 2 Industrial Training School (Mandalay) on 18th January 2020 and the upgrading project commenced on 8th December 2021 with the China’s support.
The agreement included the provision of necessary equipments and teaching aids, construction and renovation of buildings and conducting training for teachers. The training will be provided to three trainees for each subject. A total of 6 subjects such as Machine Tool Operator, CNC Operator, Welder, Electrician, Automobile and Tractor Mechanics, and Air Conditioning and Refrigerator will be conducted through theoretical and practical aspects for 3 months from 15th October 2023 to 14th January 2024.
