Industrial Cooperation: Myanmar delegation joins the INNOPROM 2024

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than visited the Russian Federation to attend the 14th International Industrial Trade Fair (INNOPROM 2024).

In arrival at Moscow on July 7th, the Union Minister met with the officials from National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) at the Airport Lounge, and discussed matters on handover of steel manufacturing technologies and development works.

The delegation arrived at Yekaterinburg, where the Deputy Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Oblast welcomed them at the airport.

On the 8th, the delegation visited the trade fair, and observed the displays of machinery for iron and steel exploration, its products, air purifier equipment and detectors for respiratory infectious disease as well as medicines and medical equipment exhibited by the Pharmaceutical Companies from the United Arab Emirates.

In the evening, the delegation attended a dinner reception, hosted by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Oblast. On the 9th, the delegation attended the Conference on “Technology Partnership: Shaping the Future”, and discussed matters on economic opportunities between Myanmar and members of Shanghai Cooperation Organizations.

In the afternoon, the delegation participated in the opening ceremony of INNOPROM-2024.

In the evening, Union Minister Dr Charlie Than met with the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, and discussed matters on industrial cooperation between the two countries, manufacturing of medicines and medical equipment and fully operation of No.2 Steel Mill (Pangpet). They also exchanged views on import of raw materials needed for manufacturing medicines in Myanmar and possibilities of cooperation in producing edible oil, textile and garment industry and cement production.

On the 10th, the delegation met with the Deputy Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast, and discussed matters on cooperation in higher education, manufacturing medicines, conducting capacity building training, industrial and production field, culture and garment industry.

On the 11th, the delegation left Yekaterinburg, and on arrival at Moscow, they held a meeting with officials from Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and JSC "VO Tyazhpromexport" (TPE), and discussed for speedy completion of No.2 Steel Factory (Pangpet) project. The delegation left Moscow on the same day, and arrived back in Yangon 0n the 12th.
