Indonesians evacuated after volcanic eruption kills 10

Thousands of people in several villages on Indonesia's popular tourist island of Flores have been evacuated after Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki erupted, killing at least 10 people. The spokesman of the country's disaster mitigation agency confirmed the death toll at a press conference, adding that 10,295 people had been affected by the eruptions.

He said the number of evacuees was still being calculated but said no one had been reported missing.  The volcanology agency hoisted the highest alert level because of an increase in volcanic activity, telling locals and tourists not to carry out activities within a seven-kilometer radius of the crater.
