Indonesia marks 80th armed forces anniversary with national parade

Indonesia’s military (TNI) commemorated its 80th anniversary on Saturday with a large-scale parade at the National Monument area in Jakarta.

The event was attended by President Prabowo Subianto, senior officers, and thousands of personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. In his address, Prabowo hailed the TNI as “the backbone” of national defense and “the guarantor” of the country’s sovereignty, saying that the military plays an important role in Indonesia's development.
