Indonesia launched a $4.3 billion free-meal program aimed at tackling stunted growth caused by malnutrition, fulfilling a key election promise of President Prabowo Subianto.

At Angkasa 5 elementary school in East Jakarta, over 100 pupils received the meals for the first time.

There were hopes that the initiative would not only address basic nutritional needs but also improve the children's academic performance, as better nutrition was expected to support their overall development.
