Indian PM opens strategic tunnel to China border zones

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Z-Morh or Sonmarg tunnel on Monday. The 6.4-kilometre tunnel improves all-weather access to high-altitude border regions. It runs beneath a mountain pass that is closed by snow for four to six months each year. This project is part of India’s broader infrastructure development in border areas, aimed at enhancing access and regional connectivity.
