Indian PM Modi inaugurates 38th National Games

The 38th National Games commenced at Dehradun in India on Tuesday with the grand opening ceremony celebration of the state’s rich cultural heritage and marked a historic moment for country’s sports sector.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ceremony which brings together over 10,000 athletes and coaches from across the country. In his speech, Modi emphasized the role of sports in nation-building and youth empowerment.

The competition features 32 sports disciplines, including rugby, aquatics, badminton and football. The 38th National Games will run until February 13, with the closing ceremony scheduled for February 14.
