

In a bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, India has officially presented its proposal to the Evaluation Committee of Commonwealth Sport on Tuesday.
The proposal was presented by an Indian team of officials comprising members of the Indian Olympic Association and the state and central government officials. The 2030 edition of the Games carries great significance, marking 100 years of the Commonwealth Sport Movement.
The bid proposes Ahmedabad in Gujarat as the host. The Indian delegation, led by Harsh Sanghavi, Gujarat’s Minister of Sports, and President of the Commonwealth Games Association of India, emphasized Ahmedabad’s readiness to deliver a world-class event. The final decision on the host city is expected to be made at the CGF General Assembly in Glasgow in November 2025.
