India-Sri Lanka Strengthen Ties with Key Agreements

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted Sri Lankan President Anura Disanayake at Hyderabad House, where both leaders signed two agreements. PM Modi emphasized a futuristic vision for the partnership, with a focus on investment-led growth.

Under the education cooperation framework, starting next year, 200 scholarships will be awarded monthly to students in the universities of Jaffna and Eastern Province. Additionally, India will train 1,500 Sri Lankan civil servants over the next five years and collaborate on various sectors, including housing, renewable energy, infrastructure, agriculture, dairy and fisheries.
