India Marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), observed globally on Tuesday.

To commemorate this day, India’s President Droupadi Murmu honored 33 individuals and institutions with the National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in a ceremony held in New Delhi.

The government also unveiled 16 transformative initiatives aimed at enhancing accessibility, inclusion, and empowerment for persons with disabilities across the country.
