The bilateral naval exercise VARUNA 2025, held from March 19 to 22, strengthened the India-France naval partnership, enhancing tactical and operational coordination.

The VARUNA 2025 saw Indian and French naval forces engage in multi-domain exercises, refining their combat and operational readiness in complex maritime scenarios.  Advanced Air Defense drills, featuring Rafale-M jets from the French Navy and MiG-29K fighters from the Indian Navy, tested joint aerial threat response capabilities.

Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) exercises with Indian submarines and ASW frigates from both navies focused on underwater warfare tactics and domain awareness. This edition of VARUNA achieved higher levels of coordination, reinforcing the India-France maritime partnership.
