Following a call from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, thousands of people across the country cheered loud on Sunday for those working on the front-line during the coronavirus pandemic.

Many stepped out on to their balconies and courtyards with steel plates and spoons in hand. Some wore face masks as they cheered and beat their household tools. Others played instruments and played the drums to show their gratitude for all efforts being made in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic. India has recorded 341 cases of the coronavirus so far and six people have lost their lives. The country is also observing a voluntary curfew in an effort to combat the spread of the virus that has so far taken more than 13,000 lives world-wide.
