India and European Union edge closer to FTA

India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has concluded a pivotal visit to Brussels, marking a significant step forward in negotiations for a comprehensive India-EU Free Trade Agreement.

During his visit, The Minister engaged in detailed discussions with , EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security aimed at advancing the India-EU Free Trade Agreement. They were described as “intense but very productive”, with both sides narrowing gaps and laying the groundwork for a mutually beneficial pact.  

Minister Goyal noted that the talks had substantially reduced outstanding issues and helped establish a framework that could deliver a win-win outcome for both economies. The dialogue focused on key areas such as market access, innovation, investment, and shared economic growth.
