The discussions were held between India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Chile’s Treasury Undersecretary Claudia Sanhueza.

Their meeting followed the fourth round of CEPA talks, which concluded on December 5. The proposed CEPA is intended to expand the existing Preferential Trade Agreement into a broader economic framework. It aims to include digital services, investment promotion, MSME collaboration, and cooperation on critical minerals. Both sides view the agreement as a step toward deeper economic integration and stronger bilateral trade ties.
