On June 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Chenab Rail Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, marking it as the world's highest railway bridge. This monumental structure stands 359 meters above the Chenab Riverbed, surpassing the Eiffel Tower by 35 meters. Spanning 1.3 kilometers, the bridge is a pivotal component of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project.

It is designed to withstand seismic activity, high-intensity blasts, and extreme weather conditions, ensuring durability for over 120 years. In conjunction with the bridge inauguration, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, enhancing connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of India.

This service aims to reduce travel time between Katra and Srinagar by approximately five hours, fostering economic growth and tourism in the region .
