India’s foreign minister meets Cyprus parliament president

India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held a bilateral meeting with Annita Demetriou, President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus, on Tuesday. Dr. Jaishankar said on X that their discussions covered a broad range of bilateral issues.

The conversation focused on shared democratic values, respect for territorial integrity and a strong joint stance against terrorism and radicalization. Both sides underlined the importance of deepening cooperation across political, economic and security areas.

The minister added that India looks forward to Cyprus’ upcoming Presidency of the European Union. He expressed confidence that Cyprus will play an important role in further strengthening India–EU relations during its term.
