India’s Commerce Minister in New Zealand

India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal arrived in Auckland on Wednesday for high-level discussions with New Zealand’s Minister for Trade and Investment Todd McClay, as both nations review progress on a proposed Free Trade Agreement.

At a special event, the two ministers reflected on the growing momentum in India–New Zealand relations.  Over the past two years, trade and investment between the two countries have seen a notable uptick, laying the groundwork for deeper economic cooperation. India is going beyond tariffs and looking at newer ways to expand the India-New Zealand relationship in FTA negotiations.
