Incumbent Koike Yuriko wins third term as Tokyo governor

Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko won a third term in Sunday’s election. She prevailed in the gubernatorial election in which a record 56 candidates took part.

Members of the Liberal Democratic Party backed her in the election. She serves as the special advisor to TOMIN First, a regional party. Koike said “Children First” will be her priority for her new term. And, she will make sure that all the election promises she has made will be strategically implemented as soon as possible, by finding secure funds to pay for them.
