Inauguration Match: Chinese New Year Invitational Men’s Football Tournament

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan attended the inauguration of the 2025 Chinese New Year Invitational Men’s Football Tournament at the State Football Stadium on Saturday.

Jointly organized by the Kachin State Football Federation and the Chinese Youth of Myitkyina Yunnan Temple, the tournament aims to promote unity and advance football standards in the region. In his speech, the Chief Minister called for collective efforts to ensure the tournament’s success.

The event kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by greetings to the six participating teams. The Chief Minister and officials then enjoyed performances by local ethnic singers and a Chinese dance troupe. The opening match between the NaungNan Youth Team and Myitkyina University Team then continued, drawing strong support from football fans and invited guests. The Chief Minister also presented cash of honor to the performing troupes.
