







Marking the 80 Anniversary Armed Forces Day, the opening ceremony of CT Scanner (64 Slices) new computer X-Ray machine was held at Myeik People’s Hospital in Tanintharyi Region on 21st March.
Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the ceremony, and took part in the ceremonial ribbon cutting event. The Union Minister and attendees later observed the newly installed machine and Hemodialysis ward.
In his speech, the Union Minister stated that installing of the 64 Slice CT Scanner not only benefits the residents in the town, but also the community from the surrounding areas, with providing access to more comprehensive and efficient disease detection in time.
The Union Minister also appreciated the participants who involve in the implementation of installing the 64 Slice CT Scanner machine and treatment sector. Chief Minister of Tanintharyi Region U Myat Ko also made a statement, emphasizing to continue support for healthcare services. The Medical Superintendent of Myeik People’s Hospital also gave words of appreciation.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the health staff and urged them to enhance treatment at outpatient department and to conduct special field treatment activities in the surrounding areas.
Subsequently, he inspected the patient wards, emergency rooms, outpatient department, laboratory room, blood bank and X-ray department.
In the evening, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister and party visited the Myeik Midwifery Training School, met with the trainees and provided cash assistance and foodstuff.
