Immigration and Population: Meeting with the Ethiopian Ambassador

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Mr. Daba Debele Hunde,  Ambassador of Ethiopia to Myanmar based in Japan, at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday. 

During the meeting, both sides frankly discussed the entry, exit and residency matters of Ethiopian nationals, identifying illegal foreign nationals including Ethiopian nationals, and repatriation of Ethiopian nationals detained for online scam. The meeting also focused on Myanmar’s ongoing efforts to eliminate online gambling and human trafficking in collaboration with neighboring countries and Myanmar-Ethiopia bilateral immigration measures and further cooperations plans.
