Immigration and Population: Inspection and meeting with staff in Myeik Township

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing together with officials visited Myeik Township Immigration Office in Taninthayi Region on Wednesday, to observe the process of issuing national registration cards and UID numbers for e-ID system.

The Union Minister also inspected the document maintenance and record room, and instructed for systematic storage with safety measures.

In meeting with the staff of the Rewgion, District and Township Offices, the Union Minister pointed out the crucial role of accurate voter list for holding the free and fair multiparty general election, and the ground enumeration task has completed nationwide.

Efforts are now being made with concerned officials, to issue a type of identity card to every eligible citizens through Pan Khin Project, and UID numbers via e-ID system. Moreover, implementations are underway for the success of 2024 nationwide population and housing census despite various obstacles. He emphasized the need to make timely completion of the work process in line with the laws and regulations.
