Illegle trade: Consumer goods, timbers, vehicles seized

Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, action is effectively taken in accordance with the law to prevent and apprehend illegal trade activities.

On 10 September, equipment without valid documents at Yangon International Airport (Import Terminal), food items, consumer goods, and business equipment, a Mitsubishi Fuso tractor and trailer at Ywathagyi Dry Port, business equipment and consumer goods at the Myitnge checkpoint in Mandalay Region, illegal teak and other timber with two motorcycles in Tharsi Township, Industrial equipment without legal documentation in Kawthoung Township, Taninthayi Region were seized.

On 11 September, illegal teak, padauk and other timber in Bago Region, unregistered Daihatsu Hijet, at the Kantalu checkpoint in Sagaing Township, 360 gallons of illegal diesel fuel from a motorboat near Makyeekyun, two miles off the coast of Yanbye Township of Rakhine State were confiscated.

As of 10 and 11 September, 11 cases were registered involving seizures worth 509.29 million Kyats, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
