Illegal Trade: Work Coordination Meeting (3/2023) held

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win attended the work coordination meeting on Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee (3/2023) held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw on 26th of May.

At the meeting, deputy prime minister said that it has been 9 times holding such meeting and 280 decisions were made.

Looking at the change and the progress, Nyaung Kkar Shay Permanent Check Point construction project was able to implement, testing QR code and E-Lock system has been made for easy access of transportation and he said it is needed to be completed the Nyaugn Khar Shay project within the scheduled time and called to get widely use of QR code and E-Lock systems for import process when it gets success of testing.

There are some weakening  checks in illegal trade at the check points and security posts along the way of Myawady-Yangon, Muse-Lashio trade routes.

Therefore, the illegal items are needed to be seriously took action and the chairmen of state and region illegal trade eradication special task forces are urged to take effective actions when if illegal trade eradication groups, one stop service groups and security posts in regions and states are doing illegal things. 

When taking about health, relevant staffs and security members need to follow the COVID-19 SOP of the ministry of health as they are dealing with the people and it is needed to arrange the necessary things for the potential destructive acts of the terrorists at the check points.

Then, Secretary of Steering Committee Deputy Minister U Nyunt Aung reported the works that have done upon the decisions of (2/2023) meeting and the implementations of the committee.

Afterwards, Deputy Director, Director General of the Department of Central Equipment Statistics and Inspection, Director General of the Custom Department, Director General of the Department of Trade and Director General of the Department of Food and Drug Administration read the submitted reports at the meeting.

Then, Vice Chairmen of the steering committee Union Ministers Lt. General Soe Htut and U Win Shein, committee member Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo explained and discussed about Myanmar-Thailand trade comparison, seizure of illegal drugs and cosmetics, illegal trade reviews, illegal gates between Myanmar-China and QR Code implementations.

Then the attendees discussed the matters in the relevant sectors for illegal trade eradication. And the decisions (draft) of the (3/2023) were read by the official of steering committee. Then, deputy prime minister coordinated the requirements upon the discussions and concluded the meeting.
