Illegal trade :Timbers, industrial materials, vehicles confiscated

On 6 and 8 April, an unregistered Toyota Corolla car was captured near the traffic light of an industrial zone in Hlinethaya Township and an unregistered Toyota Crown car near Kyatbezey traffic light in Thingangyun Township.

On 6 and 7 April, 324 toy small remote control cars, 500 pairs of Orissa Pan including P Trap and 1,600 kilogrammes of PVC Edge Banding, 25 kinds of goods including over 4,000 kilogrammes of porcelains, over 47,000 kilogrammes of glassware and eight kinds of goods including over 800 kilogrammes of Varem Pressure Tank were confiscated from eight containers at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint.

On 8 April, 165,085 kilogrammes of galvanized sheet were seized from six containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port Terminal container checkpoint. A total of 3.793 tonnes of illegal timbers from a Hino Profia truck heading to Muse from Mandalay was nabbed at the Yepu permanent checkpoint in Shan State.

An unregistered Mitsubishi car was seized at the Koesu village checkpoint on Pathein-Yangon road in Pathein Township.

On 8 and 9 April, a total of 5.174 tonnes of illegal teak were confiscated in Ottwin , Toungoo and Paukkhaung Townships.

Therefore, 17 arrests (estimated value of 408.442 Kyats) were made on four consecutive days from 6 to 9 April, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
