Illegal trade: Timbers, industrial materials seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.

On 4th May, a total of 4,471 kilogrammes of silicone Sealant gasket marker was confiscated from a container at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint and a Sidel brand new blower spare part and an air compressor from luggage at the Yangon International Airport (Import Desk).

On 5th May, and three Roche medical devices, 13 kinds of excavator and bulldozer spare parts, including 2,180 kilogrammes of water pipes, nine kinds of goods including 10 hydraulic jacks and accessories, and 2,500 Silkline disposable wipes from four containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port Terminal container checkpoint.

On 7 May, a total of 0.264 tonne of illegal teak, 1.998 tonnes of illegal hardwood and 3.079 tonnes of other illegal timbers in Bago districts were captured.
Therefore, eight arrests (estimated value of 300.513 million Kyats) were made on 4, 5 and 7 May, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
