Illegal trade: Timbers, industrial materials, auto parts and vehicles

On 5 April, 19 kinds of goods including 903 kilogrammes of Porcelain cups and 2,298 kilogrammes of glassware cups and 19.6 kilogrammes of Super kids supplement medicines were confiscated at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint.

On 6 April, five kinds of goods including 24 work clothes jackets and 898 kilogrammes of Neuro-B plus supplement medicines from luggage at the Yangon International Airport (Import Desk). 23,668 kilogrammes of polyester film were capture at the Myanmar Industrial Port Terminal container checkpoint.

In addition, 8,300 pairs of sandal foam slippers and 2,500 kilogrammes of enamel wire were nabbed at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint in Mon State.

44 kinds of goods including warm clothes and computer accessories were seized from two express buses heading to Mandalay from Muse on Lashio detour.

On 6 and 7 April, four kinds of goods including 300 motorcycle exhausts from a Mitsubishi Fuso express bus heading to Mandalay from Lashio were confiscated at the 16th-Mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint.

A total of 5.669 tonnes of illegal timbers was seized in Pyu and Padaung townships.

Therefore, 18 arrests (estimated value of 279.483 million Kyats) were made on three consecutive days from 5 to 7 April, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
