Illegal trade: Timbers, goods, vehicles seized

Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, illegal trade is effectively prevented and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

On 26th August, 16 kinds of industrial use equipments and Hino Profia Truck loaded the equipments in Myit-Nge checkpoint in Mandalay Region, 10 kinds of foodstuffs and 2 kinds of consumer goods from three vehicles of Mitsubishi Canter Truck in Kengtung Township of Shan State (East) were seized.

On 27th August, 8760 kilograms of Ammonium Nitrate in Man-Khein Ward of Myitkyina Township of Kachin State, 0.885 tone of teakwood and 1.586 tones of hardwood in Taungoo District and Nyaung Lay Pin District of Bago Region, two motorbikes without license in Hsin-Paung-We and Mindone townships of Magway Region were confiscated.

On 28th August, two kinds of foodstuffs including 1,000 containters of two prawn brand palm oil and 4 kinds of consumer goods and a Sunlong Bus carried those goods at Thanlwin bridge in Kayin State, two kinds of indistrial materials including 500 Deestone motorbike tyres and one Cheng Long Bus carried those near Nwa-Chan-Kone Village of Kawtkareik Township were captured.

Therefore, 21 arrests (estimated value of 491.617 million Kyats) were made on 26th, 27th and 28th August, 2024, according to the committee.
