Illegal trade: Timbers, fuel, foodstuffs, commodities, vehicles seized

Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, illegal trade is effectively prevented and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

On 7th May, 11 goods including 7 Honda Wave  125 engines and a Toyota Hiace carrying them from Pha-An to Thaton were captured near Milepost (2/7) at the entrance of Thaton Township.

On 8th May, 345.6 square meters of Porcelain Tiles made in China from two containers at Asia World Container Check point, 14.696 tones of illegal teakwood, 8.645 tones of hardwood and 5.234 tones of other timbers in Bago, Taunggoo, Nyaunglaypin and Pyay Districts, motor vehicle spare parts of 6 connecting Roads, 150 Redmi Phone LCG Display of smart phone spare parts at Hsinphyu checkpoint in Muse Township, 4 kinds of goods including 469 solar panels and two tructks of Mitsubishi Fuso and Isuzu Giga carried them at milepost (370/4) near Kyaukse by-pass on old Yangon-Mandalay Road, 19 kinds of goods including 67104 empty  paper bags, 720 Quick noodle boxes, 9450 bottles of Lipovitan-D and three buses of Nissan, Higher and Sunlong carried them parked in the compound of Aung Mingalar Highway terminal, illegal 120 gallons of gasoline at Bant Pyin Village of Minhla Township, were seized.

Therefore, The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported that 20 arrests were made on 7th and 8th May , with an estimated value of 390.060 million Kyats.
