






An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
The No 2 Traffic Police branch captured an unregistered Toyota Caldina in front of FMI housing on Yangon-Pathein road in Hlaingthaya township (East) on 10 October, two unregistered motorbikes in Nyaungpintha and Uyinsu villages in Pyinmana township, four kinds of goods at the warehouses in Mahaaungmyay and Amarapura townships and seven kinds of goods by the side of road over Sinphyu checkpoint in Muse Township, 1,962 sets of Baby Walker from four containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port, four kinds of goods from luggage at the Yangon International Airport (Import Desk) and a Nissan Condor and a Shwechan express bus headed to Yangon from Myawady, carrying 990 litres of Prawn Hornet palm oil and 3,000 packs of Wai Wai instant rice vermicelli at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint on 12 October, illegal teaks and hardwoods in Bago and Thayawady districts and an unregistered Honda Fit near Thapyaygon village in Waw township on 13 October.
A total of 17 arrests were made on 10, 12 and 13 October, with an estimated value of 219.135 million Kyats as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
