Illegal trade: Timbers, consumer goods, fuel, vehicles seized

The effective action is being taken to prevent illicit trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

A combined inspection team under the supervision of Customs department seized a Dong Feng tractor head vehicle which is without license in Mayanchaung checkpoint at Mon state on 21 July.

Similarly, under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal trade special task force of Sagaing Region, led by the Myanmar Police Force impounded 11,100 gallons of illegal diesel at Kyauktan-Wuntho -Pinlebu road on 22 July. A combined team seized illegal timbers at Kyaukdaga Township, Bago district.

Furthermore, under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal trade special task force, a combined team led by the Myitkyina Township Department of Mining impounded 12 bamboo rafts installed with the engines near Makhaodi village on the eastern bank of Ayeyawady river on 22 July and a bamboo raft and five iron pontoons (estimated value of K5.6 million), which are installed with one engine near Labanrozana village in Myitkyina Township on 23 July.

Similarly, under the supervision of the Mon State Anti-Illegal Trade Special Task Force, a combined team led by the Head of Mawlamyine Township Customs Department seized a vehicle driven from Phayathonsu to Mudon, carrying illegal fertilizer without official documents and a vehicle, Nissan Condor in Mudon township on 23 July.

Therefore, 14 cases (estimated value of 267.72 million Kyats) were taken action from 21 to 23 July, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
