Illegal trade: Timbers, commodities, vehicles seized

Under the supervision and control of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, illegal trade is being effectively prevented and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

On 25th July, two kinds of goods including one set of Shoe Making Machinery and Equipment was seized from a container at Myanmar Industrial Ports.

On 26th July, 6031 Kilograms of 60% Cotton 40% Polyester Pique on a vehicle were confiscated at Kywe Tat Sone check-point in Mandalay Region.

On the same day, 16800 cans of My Boy trade-marked condensed milk and evaporated milk made on Thailand together wth a Dong Feng Tractor Head and a trailor transported those items from Maw Taung Town to Yangon near Shwe Than Lwin toll gate in Phayagyi town of Bago Region and three kinds of goods including 120 bottles of soy bean oil  with Thailand alphabets from a Yutong Bus drove from Myeik to Yangon were seized at Nyaung-Kha-Shay X-ray check-point.

On 28th July, 14,053 tons of illegal teak, 3.721 tons of hardwood, and 16.242 tons of other timbers in Bago, Toungoo, and Nyaung-Lay-Bin districts, were captured.

Therefore, from 25, 26 and 28 July, 10 cases were reported, with an estimated value of 263.165 million Kyats, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
