Illegal trade: Minerals, foreign currency notes and vehicles seized

A combined team led by the Thandwe District Forest Department captured a total of 2.607 tonnes of illegal timbers  on 13 June.

Similarly, a total of 4.410 tonnes of illegal teak and 1.356 tonnes of other illegal timbers  were seized in Lewe and Ottarathiri townships on 18 June. 56 bags of lead were impounded from a house in Kanpauk village in Yephyu Township. A total of 7,198,500 Indian Rupee was captured from a Honda CR-V car  in Tiddim Township.

A Toyota Crown and a Nissan X-Trail (heading to Phayagyi from Waw) were confiscated near a Tollgate on Yangon-Mawlamyine Road in Bago Township on 22 June. Therefore, seven arrests were made on 13, 18, 20 and 22 June, with an estimated value of over 255.341 million Kyats as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
