Illegal trade: Industrial materials, consumer goods, vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.

30 cartons of various snacks and 10 cartons of Pesticides at Milepost 17/1 on Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin Road on 16 August, 10 kinds of goods including 11 tanks of Adhesive Glue and 2,600 LED bulbs that were smuggled and piled up by the side of road over the Sinphyu checkpoint in Muse township and a Renult Master minibus, a JMC minibus and a Fotton minibus headed to Lashio from Chinshwehaw, carrying 17 kinds of goods including 3,500 sets of Phone LCD display and 286 kilogrammes of Plastic pipe cap near a tollgate on the detour of Lashio Township on 16 and 17 August, two kinds of goods including 4,262.5 liters of cooking oil- Soybean oil in a warehouse in Chitkyiyay Street in No 5 Ward in Myawady and a Toyota HiAce carrying two kinds goods including 1,800 litres of cooking oil near Yepu village traffic light in No 5 Ward in Myawady on 16 August and an Isuzu Elf vehicle headed to Thaton from Hpa-an, carrying 900 litres of Ruby Prawn palm oil and 720 bottles of SPY wine cooler black at the Thanlwin Bridge (Hpa-an) combined checkpoint on 17 August.

A total of 16 arrests were made on 16 and 17 August, with an estimated value of 185.779 Kyats, as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
