Illegal Trade: Illegal Trade Items, Timbers And Vehicles Seized

The action is being taken against illegal trades managed by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, under the law.

On 29 March, the construction tools imported in violation of import licences at Asia World Port Terminal, household appliances imported in violation of import licences at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Inspection Station, the medicines and cosmetics imported in violation of import licences at the Yangon International Airport cargo warehouse were seized and action was taken under the Customs Law.

In addition, the various smart phones that did not show any official documents were confiscated in Mandalay.

On 31 March, the illegal timbers in Bago, Toungoo, Pyay and Thayawady District Forest Reserves were seized. The foodstuffs and utensils that had no official documents in a vehicle in Sagaing Region were seized. An unregistered vehicle in Magway District and six trucks with illegally diesel barrels in Minbu and Pakokku Districts were seized.

Therefore, 18 arrests (estimated value of 250.830 million Kyats) were made on 29, 30 and 31 March, according to Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
