Illegal Trade: Illegal Trade Items And Vehicles Seized

SUPERVISED by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, efforts are being made to take effective action against illegal trades under the law in regions and states.

On 25 March, 28 water-pumping motors and equipment used in gold mining along with illegal gold mining activities along the bank of the Ayeyawady River, an unregistered truck at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint in Mon State were confiscated.

On 28 March, a vehicle together with two undocumented used diesel generators at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined Checkpoint in Kayin State, 12 bags (592 kilogrammes) containing what is believed to be metal near Sanlaung village near the Yepu Permanent Checkpoint, construction materials in excess of what was stated in the import declaration (ID) at the Myanmar Industrial Port Customs Checkpoint, on 28 March; a Toyota LandCruiser vehicle and a motorcycle in Shwebo District were seized.

Therefore, a total of 11 arrests (estimated value of over 166.62 million Kyats) were made on 25th, 26th, 28th, and 29th March, the Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee stated.
