Illegal Trade: Illegal Teaks, Household Electronic Devices, Vehicles Seized

An effective action is being taken against offenders to prevent illicit trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 14 September, An on-duty inspection team under the supervision of the Customs Department inspected and found Button punching machine and CMP accessories not declared in the ID at the airport cargo garage at the Yangon International Airport on 14 September.

They also found supplementary medicines, from the Asia World Container checkpoint on 15 September. An on-duty inspection team under the supervision of the Customs Department of Mon State found air conditioners, vehicle accessories and ceramic tile not declared in the ID and three vehicles carrying the goods at the Mayanchaung checkpoint on 15 and 16 September.

A combined inspection team, under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force of Nay Pyi Taw council area found illegal timbers at Tatkon Township and Pyinmana Township on 16 and 17 September.

A combined inspection team, under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force of Kayin State, found detergent powder packets and ceramic tiles, not declared in the ID and two vehicles at Kawkareik (Tadakyo) on 17 and 18 September. An on-duty inspection team inspected at Myawady trade zone and found commodes. An inspection team found teak glass panes near Kantalu electricity office, Sagaing Region on 18 September.

Therefore, 13 cases at estimated value of 305.18 million Kyats were taken action from 14 to 18 September, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
