Illegal Trade: Illegal items, timber and unregistered vehicles seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 16th, 17th and 18th of August, motorbike spare parts, consumer goods, foodstuffs transformers and electronic devices, teak, timber and unregistered vehicles were seized on the Muse-Lashio-Mandalay Road and in Mingaladon Township, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint as well as in Bago and Toungoo districts and on the Yangon-Mawlamyine Road.

In total, illegal items, timber and unregistered vehicles worth over 138 million Kyats were seized. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
