Illegal Trade: Illegal goods worth over 279 mil Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 28th, 29th and 30th of March, illegal goods including clothes, remote-control toy cars, sponges, textiles, breakers, cigarettes, mobile phones, industrial materials, household appliances, beer and drinks worth over 279 million Kyats were confiscated at the Asia World Port container checkpoint, at the Hteedan Port container checkpoint, at the Yangon International Airport and at the 16th-Mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint as well as in North Okkalapa Township.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
