Illegal Trade: Illegal goods, lead powder and ironwood seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th of August, illegal consumer goods, industrial materials, sport shoes, foodstuffs,  motorbike spare parts, baby accessories, cosmetic products, lead powder, toilet accessories and ironwood were seized at the container terminal of the Myanmar International Port (Thilawa) and at the container terminal of the Myanmar Industrial Port as well as on the Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin Road, at the Yepu Permanent Checkpoint, at Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint and in Yedashe Township of Toungoo District.

In total, illegal goods, lead powder and ironwood worth over 70 million Kyats were seized. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
