Illegal Trade: Illegal good and teak confiscated

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th and 14th of March, illegal goods including tiles, welding rods, ceiling bars, vacuum steel flask, iron pipes, red gram, colour crepe paper, palm oil, foodstuffs, consumer goods, cosmetics and teak worth over 857 million Kyats were confiscated at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint, at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint, energy drinks and at the 16th-Mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint as well as in Muse Township and at the Thanlwin Bridge (Mawlamyine) checkpoint and in Sagaing, Pyu and Letpadan townships.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
