Illegal Trade: Illegal consumer goods, vehicle and timber seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th of September, illegal foodstuffs, vehicle, timber, equipment, construction materials, medicines, motorbike, consumer goods and teak were seized on the way from Mawlamyaing to Yangon and in Thonese Township and Taungoo, Nyaunglaybin and Pyay districts, at container ports and airport in Yangon, in Kalay Township, in Hpakant Township and at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint as well as in Lewei and Aunglan townships.

In total, illegal consumer goods, vehicle and timber worth over 295 million Kyats were confiscated. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
