Illegal trade: Fuel oil, medicines, consumer goods,vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.

Three Nissan diesel UD headed to Tanai from Myitkyina, carrying 3,870 gallons of smuggled diesel and 2070 gallons of smuggled gasoline at the combined checkpoint of Tanai township on 14 August, four kinds of smuggled medicines including four boxes of Dano Injection (Tetanus Taxoid Tetanus vaccine), another 52 kinds of medicines including 22 boxes of Megra-100 tabletsthe pharmaceutical warehouse in Chanayethazan Township,13 kinds of goods including 255 lead acid storage batteriesfrom three containersat the Myanmar Industrial Port, 132 Chicken ceramic tiles at the Wampon International Port in Tachilek township and nine kinds of goods including 12 electric cookers (red) from a vehicle travelling from Kengtung to Tachilek at the Maeyan combined checkpoint on 15 August.

A total of six arrests were made on 14 and 15 August, with an estimated value of 542.276 million Kyats, as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
