Illegal Trade Eradication: Steering Committee meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw

On 27th February, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win presided over a work coordination meeting 1 of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee at the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw. 

In his speech, the Vice Senior General in his capacity as the Committee Chairman stressed the environmental and economic loss caused by illegal excavation and trading of natural resources. He also called for the active participation of the MSMEs entrepreneurs in illegal trade eradication measures to protect the interest of the nation.

Next, discussions were made on findings related to illegal trade, matters on seized controlled and illegal drugs and substances, vehicles, fuels, foodstuff and actions being taken against the suspects, preventive measures, export/import volume, commodity flow at the trade camp as well as trade condition with neighboring countries.

Then, the Vice Senior General coordinated on the discussions, and gave concluding remarks.
