Illegal Trade Eradication: Illegal timbers and goods confiscated

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

From the 29th of August to the 3rd of September, illegal timbers, teak and hardwoods as well as illegal goods including carpets, bicycles and protective film worth over 147 million Kyats were confiscated inNyaungdon township, in Tamu township, in Bago,Taungoo and Thayawaddy districts, at theNyaungkhashay X-Ray checkpoint, at the Asia World PortTerminal container checkpoint, at the Mayanchaung permanentcheckpoint and in Hlegu township. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
